In the wintertime, warm, cooked breakfasts taste the best but if you’re tired of morning oats, don’t settle and try other good protein-rich alternatives, such as buckwheat groats. Buckwheat is a gluten-free seed that’s rich in many trace minerals and a good source of B vitamins. It’s also rich in resistant starch, that helps with weight loss, reduces food cravings, and provides prebiotic-like benefits, so it pairs perfectly with your morning yogurt!
This chocolate buckwheat porridge is spiced with cinnamon and ginger, which are excellent winter spices that will help keep your immune system strong and boost blood circulation. And if your mornings are busy, just throw all the ingredients with plenty of water into a crock-pot at night, set it for low and wake up to a delicious hot breakfast.
